A Serious Game of Patient Safety for Multiple Players

3D VOR (Virtual Operating Room) is a serious game in project phase created to train operating block professionals in crisis management and accident prevention.

The Single Interministerial Fund (FUI) selected the project within the framework of its 12th Call for Projects.

3D VOR brought together experts in the fields of 1) serious games (KTM Advance) and 3D (Novamotion), 2) multidisciplinary research such as IT, didactics and ergonomics (Serious Game Research Network – Champollion University) and 3) healthcare (Toulouse University Hospital).
Project Characteristics?
– The complete cast of operating block professionals is put into play in this serious game,
– The game is a collaborative training program involving all operating block professionals from the patient’s entrance to his or her release,
– The operating block is entirely 3D sculpted and includes motion capture,
– The game is based on the real-life experiences of operating block personnel and the skills used in various crisis situations.
