A Collaborative Serious Game on Climate Change

Created for the citizens of Rio de Janeiro and the participants of the June 2012 World Summit, this collaborative serious game (available on line, on tablets and on Twitter) was developed to raise public awareness of sustainable development and its related issues.

The project was created under the high patronage of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP).
The project aimed to share information about the risks of climate change with the greater public, to think collectively about these risks and related issues, and finally to encourage collective and concerted decision-making.

The object of the game is to participate in Rio’s virtual evolution through collaborative voting, “push” moves in an attempt balance the game when the indicator reaches a critical point, ARG moves and long plays.

Grégoire Chailleux, Digital Project Director: “The success of this game starts with the excellent communication among the different teams, KTM Advance’s keen attention and, finally, the technical prowess of the project’s operational team.”

Laure Confavreux Colliex, Executive VP – Lord Culture: “Forward +50 is a world first! It’s the first collaborative serious game available to the greater public where everyone can play on line.”
