In 2012, the French National Office for Education and Career Information (ONISEP) asked KTM Advance to create a serious game to help high school students with their post-baccalaureate applications via APB, or Post-Bac Admissions.
In this serious game, the player must advise six high-school characters during their school year and help them go through the APB process successfully.
After completing the different scenarios, players should be capable of – Obtaining information pertaining to their study options, – Building a work strategy around their study options and the APB procedure.
This serious game includes a search engine of schools, training programs, a geo-localization system and a school choices aggregator.
It offers sharing functions with Facebook such as “invitation” and “share results” to encourage other students to participate.
“My APB” has improved how the ONISEP is perceived, and positions the association as a key player in career guidance among students, parents and guidance counselors.
Totally integrated in the typical high school student’s world, the game is accessible on-line and on Facebook and as a smartphones and tablet application.
The game is a success. It had already received over a million hits just one week after its release.
