iCAT - Air Traffic Control Simulator

Eurocontrol launched a new flight data processing system to replace an outdated flight server, in order to improve air safety and communications.
To prepare their operational staff for the changeover, Eurocontrol instituted a training program, including an initial 30-hour e-learning program, followed by accreditation training on a real-time system simulator.
Eurocontrol chose to retain KTM Advance to create the critical e-learning program, the key to preparing their personnel for the flight server simulation and accreditation on the new system.

Handover-Takeover

In air traffic control, handover-takeover is a critical moment and can lead to various failures (in terms of errors, communication, etc.), which may subsequently cause incidents.

Eurocontrol wanted to implement a training program aimed at preventing such incidents.

 

  Safety Nets

KTM Advance has designed and produced for Eurocontrol (the International Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation in Brussels, with 38 member states) a communication module to present the program "Safety Nets" on aviation safety.

"Safety Nets" are systems that allow additional security such as STCA (Short Term Conflict Alert), which is able to detect conflicts until 2 minutes before air collision.
