Sirius

Context:

The Sirius course had originally been designed with Captivate. The size of the course was too big. Plus it was not updatable. Consequently, the course had to be completely redesigned.

Project Objectives:

Technically a redesign the original course, so that it could be uploaded on line on an LMS and so that it could easily be updated.

The Project:

The interesting point in this product lies in the way the characters' appearance works.

 

Since they are very often present on sceen, but at difference places and sizes, it would have been easy to integrate them inside each screen. But due to the game having many details and attitudes, file sizes of the product would have been too big for it to be put online.

 

Thus we have decided to create a special file containing all characters and their attitudes. This file is loaded only once, at the beginning. To place the characters on the scene, we place a "clone" of one character (very light since there is no details nor animation) where the real character shall appear.

Animation as well as characters' text is defined with an xml file. It is then very easy for the client to modify one character's attitude or text at any time.
